The manufacturers project mandate; to innovate the "Next Step" in digital color printing. The new system's goals were to meet the demands of tomorrow's digital marketplace by having its engineering and design attributes support the power of a printing press, but also having the flexibility/end-user interface of a simple-to-use consumer printer. When developing the System's print engines and mechanisms, robust, cost-effective solutions were engineered that afforded operator-enabled service. By deploying the development process Systems Analysis™, a user-driven, consumer-like "plug and play" printing engine design was realized. Simplicity of operation and maintenance was key to achieving successful time/cost printing management. All mechanisms, print engines and housings were developed to be innovative, robust, reliable and cost-effective; the manufacturers reputation is built on these principles.
