Project
goal; to design
and engineer the housings, covers
and cabinets for their proposed
Two-Color Envelope Printing
Press. A comprehensive Systems
Analysis
study was deployed, defining
specifications, objectives and
criteria that the new press would
meet. Tasks involved the development
of the entire system's end-user
interface, housings, covers, safety
interlock schematics and mechanical
interfaces to support and address
accessibility, visibility, maintenance
and daily ergonomics. The housing's
design and material/manufacturing
process selection were engineered
and spec'd to withstand the
abusive product environment whilst
being cost-effective. Additionally,
through the balance of all development
disciplines, an effective and
intuitive aesthetic was developed,
strengthening the manufacturers
brand positioning in the market.
This turnkey effort yielded
an intuitive, dependable, advanced
design under rapid timelines.
