MIDI was contracted to develop the Next Generation Digital Imaging Positioning System with an accelerated time to market approach. MIDI’s DevelopmentDNA™ (proprietary design process) resulted in defining advanced development directive at the project’s inception, through VOC (Voice of the Customer) interaction, along with fostering a prototyping and design for manufacturing methodology that allowed for rapid product launch.
Key VOC program direction and resulting implementation included:
- Greatly reducing the time required for patient/imager positioning.
- Enhancing the degrees of freedom of system for easier access to patient extremities.
- Human Engineering optimization through a reduction in forces required to operate.
- Greater accuracy in positioning through enhances in drive and breaking mechanics.
- Compact design permitting installation with a minimal footprint.
Additionally, the resulting system was significantly reduced in cost from a material piece part count and labor perspective. |
