This manufacturers laser scanners have always been a market leader, due to superior image quality. The only dilemma that existed was manufacturing/assembly costs that were too high. The program objective was to cost-reduce the entire tabletop system, additionally improving end-user interface, assembly, testing and upgradability. What resulted was an advanced unibody composite optics bench/ superstructure with its housings, including three separate film-feeding options (single, six sheet, bulk autoloader). Engineering, manufacturing and design methodology yielded a revitalized, reliable, cost-effective product offering for the market.
