MIDI's interest in developing products and systems to assist in securing our Nation's borders has been the primary catalyst in the concept development of MIDI's Border Security Kiosk effort. Designed as a primary identification checkpoint, the ultimate function of these kiosks is to collect information on traveler's identity, the validity of travel documents, and the admissibility of entering or exiting the United States. Through innovative development application and user-centered ergonomics, the kiosk design can assist inspectors with the collection of value added information while allowing for a balance between enforcement and traffic throughput/control.
